We believe, thankfully, we have reverted back to time (even if it’s just one generation) where is it acceptable, welcomed and beautiful to feed your baby. As women in 2016, who have seen the lead up to a cynical, stigmatized and uptight evolution of breastfeeding, we can rejoice and celebrate. Thanks to images that resonate like this one, not only is it beautiful – it’s also fashionable, relatable and iconic. Not to mention economical!

It doesn’t have to be such the controversial. stigmatized activity (as if we’re smoking in a public space). The thought of breastfeeding shields and coverups contradict the essence of this image- which we want to see!

The media portrayal of two female archetypes; the overworked, under-appreciated “stay at home” mom or the unattainable single femme bombshell has left us with images that are contrary to every mom we know in real life.
This image stands for not breaking the rules – but changing the game. Before breastfeeding was out of vogue due to formula and then repopularized with new age culture, it was simple normal. As with any perceived trend; society finds it controversial and stigmatized. Maybe soon, like our moms, we can get back to a place where we don’t fight the scrutiny ever-changing scrutiny of parenting fads.
